Host takes it!
The semi finals for the Euro had Portugal sweep Wales with a 3-0 victory, but it was the France vs Germany semi final that had everyone talking.
With an attacking first half by both teams it ended with #7 Schwiensteiger committing a handball within the goal area which gave France the opportunity to end the half with a lead. All star Player Antoine Griezmann shot the penalty kick and scored the goal that put France in the lead.
This handball foul that was given didn't seem fair because the way someone jumps it forces you to put your hands up and you can clearly see that German captain Schwiensteiger was trying to hit the ball with his head but it ended up going to his hand. I believe this penalty wasn't the right call.
The second half just seemed to be Germany's demise because they kept missing shots on target and their attitude had changed from the first half. It also didn't help that Griezmann scored a second goal and basically sealed the win for the Host team France. The goal was fair, no one was off sides and no other foul was seen while the goal was made.
With Germany being the favor in this semi final, it was a shock to see them lose.
This game overall wasn't fair with most of the calls going in favor for France, including the hand ball foul which basically cost Germany the game.
Work hard, play hard and be fair.
Yours truly,
